The Hub CoWorks recently joined the ranks of community partners from all across the United States that is offering the FINSYNC CO.STARTERS CORE program for entrepreneurs. Having assembled our first cohort of starters in November, the program seeks to provide the skills, resources, and mentors necessary for starters to validate and launch their idea for a successful business. But where did the idea for CO.STARTERS come from and who was its starter? This podcast will give you the answers to these questions and much more when you carve out some weekend time to meet Enoch Elwell, Founder and Principal Director for a program that began as an experiment in Chattanooga, Tennessee to help transform that struggling city into a vibrant community of young and engaged entrepreneurs.
Enoch’s vision sought to provide a platform for communities to build the strongest support network for small local businesses to thrive. Connecting these innovative community leaders through CO.STARTERS gave them access to the best people, practices and processes (sans the MBA-speak). It also allowed these starters to share their passions in an ecosystem that made their communities thrive.
In between the time we spend talking about the design, evolution and rollout of this transformative program for entrepreneurs, our conversation delves into the life and times of a 12-year-old Enoch who ran a popsicle stand to make some quick cash, to the Enoch of today who has a fascination with fixing and repurposing old or gently-used things, and launching Treehouse Hideaways, a hospitality startup that provides boutique treehouse lodging that delivers a nice mix of childhood nostalgia, rustic charm, and luxurious lodging at Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
